Privacy policy
Last updated: October 22, 2026
Who this policy covers. This policy applies to catapultcommodities.com and to the research, reports, publications and other materials issued by Catapult Commodities. Catapult Commodities is a trade name. In this policy, the “Catapult Commodities Group” includes Catapult Commodities and all entities that directly or indirectly own, control, manage or operate its business, together with their respective affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents and representatives.
Catapult Commodities operates from Canada, under the law of Alberta. Our readers are worldwide, and Canada is our primary market.
What we collect. We collect what you give us:
- The contact form: your name and email address, the company or organization and region you enter, the commodity or service you select, and what you write in your message.
- The Friday Close sign-up: your name and email address.
- Email we receive: what you send us, if you write to us directly.
When you visit the site, our website host also records standard technical information, such as your IP address, your browser and the pages requested, in server logs that it keeps for a limited period to run and secure the site.
We do not ask for financial information, government identifiers or any sensitive personal information, and we do not buy contact lists.
Why we use it. To answer your enquiry and carry on the conversation that follows. To send you The Friday Close and other commodity reports, market research, updates, newsletters and related business or promotional communications, where you have asked for them. Where the necessary consent has been obtained, your information may also be used for communications from businesses affiliated with the Catapult Commodities Group. To keep our own records of enquiries and subscriptions, and to meet legal and regulatory obligations.
Consent and how to stop. Subscribing is voluntary. Every email we send to subscribers carries a one-click unsubscribe, and we act on it. Sending us a message through the contact form does not sign you up for anything and is not consent to marketing. You can withdraw consent at any time by writing to info@catapultcommodities.com, subject to any legal or record-keeping obligation that requires us to keep a record of the request itself.
Cookies, analytics and advertising. The site does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies or similar technologies. It remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme by storing that choice in your own browser; it is not sent to us. If we add analytics or advertising tools in future, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy before we do.
Who handles your information. Your information is held in our own systems and in services we use to run the business. These providers act for us, on our instructions, and may only use the information to provide their service:
- Website hosting: Vercel Inc., which hosts the site and keeps its server logs, in the United States.
- Email delivery and our subscriber list: Resend, which delivers the messages sent through our forms and our emails to subscribers, and holds the list of subscribers, in the United States.
- Our email: Google Workspace, operated by Google LLC, which holds the email we send and receive, in the United States and other countries where Google operates.
Information held in another country may be accessible to the courts and authorities of that country under its law.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not disclose it to anyone else except to these providers, to a business affiliated with the Catapult Commodities Group where you have consented, or where the law requires it.
How long we keep it. We keep personal information for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes described above and for our legitimate business purposes, and for as long as any applicable legal, tax or regulatory obligation requires. When it is no longer needed we securely destroy it or make it anonymous.
Security. We take reasonable physical, technical and administrative measures to protect personal information against loss, theft and unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification or destruction. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and your rights. You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent to our use of it. Write to info@catapultcommodities.com and we will respond within the time the applicable law allows. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Who is accountable. Our Chief Executive Officer is accountable for our compliance with this policy and will answer questions about our handling of personal information, including information handled by service providers outside Canada. Reach them at info@catapultcommodities.com.
Changes. We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
